Primary Schools

How does the heart work? What do your lungs do with every breath you take? And where does your food go once you swallow it? Join your students in exploring the human body at CORPUS. A school field trip that gets under your skin—and stays there.

During this 55-minute “journey,” your students will explore the structure and function of the human body. They’ll take a tour of the body from the inside out, encountering parts that are also covered in class—from muscles and bones to the senses, respiration, circulation, and reproduction.

This creates a natural connection between the curriculum and real-world experience. Students recognize what they have discussed previously and see how different parts of the body are interconnected. In this way, CORPUS aligns with Core Objective 41 of the Nature & Technology curriculum, developed by SLO.

Would you like to enhance your students’ visit? Then choose the “Circulatory System & Body” teaching package. This package was developed for grades 5 and 6 and aligns with the curriculum. It consists of two preparatory lessons and one concluding lesson. Before the visit, students explore the circulatory system, the heart, and organs such as the lungs, liver, kidneys, and intestines.

After the visit, your students will apply what they’ve learned in the final lesson. Through active learning activities, they’ll answer the question, “What have I learned?” In this way, they’ll develop their 21st-century skills.

Themed lessons

CORPUS is expanding its educational offerings. Starting in the 2026–2027 school year, themed lessons will be available for elementary schools.

Through educational videos and hands-on activities, students explore a specific part of the human body. In the knowledge clips, experts from the fields of healthcare and science share their expertise. For example, what are the anatomy, physiology, and function of the heart? And how can you live a healthy lifestyle, eat responsibly, and get plenty of exercise? Students engage with the content. They apply the information in the classroom and deepen their knowledge of the human body step by step.
